Send Email to Customers

You can send message to your customer using part of the Zen Cart admin (Tools–>Send Email).

This is also used by the Discount Coupon email function.

From the Customer drop down menu select the customer or customer group you wish to send the message to.

You should use the “Active customers in past 3 months (Regardless of subscription status)” with caution, if you sned too many email to customers who have not given you permission to email them (ie Subscribers) they could take offence and start marking your email as spam, which in turn can have a negative effect of your genuine email traffic.

The From field should have the store default email already entered, you can change this if you wish to use another email address.

The Subject will become the subject line of the email.

 

The next two fields are how the receiving person will see the email depending on their email program.

The Rich Text Message, is for visual email programs (like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird), they can display images, links and text formatted at different sizes an in different colours. Creating visual email is beyond the scope of this simple site! Contact us for more information.

Text Only message, is the email in a very basic state, just text in one size and one colour.

You can’t decide what format you customer will see the email so if you send an email, its advisable to enter the message in both formats.
